WHAT IS CROSSTRAIN...

• CROSSTRAIN BEGINS WITH A BELIEF IN FITNESS - The aim of
CrossTrain is to forge a broad, general and inclusive fitness. CrossTrain prepares trainees for any physical contingency - not only for the unknown, but for the unknowable. In sum, CrossTrain's specialty is not specializing. CrossTrain defines fitness in a meaningful, measurable way (increased work capacity across broad time and modal domains). CrossTrain itself is defined as that which optimizes fitness (constantly varied functional movements performed at relatively high intensity). CrossTrain is also the community that spontaneously arises when people do these workouts together. In fact, the communal aspect of CrossTrain is a key component of why it's so effective.

• WHO CAN DO CROSSTRAIN?
Anyone from 2 to 92 can do CrossTrain because its all functional movements! Movements which everyone needs to be able to perform in their daily lives. In addition, as Certified CrossFit Coaches, we assess those beginning CrossTrain and have them "scale" movements and exercises according to their experience and ability. The 2 year old does the same basic movements as the 92 year old and each scales the movements according to their level of understanding, physical ability, and safety needs.
